Mystery at the doll hospital : production material, 1955.

Judy and Jon are visiting Grandmother Hollis, who runs a doll hospital. Living in the city does not seem exciting until someone ransacks the doll hospital but doesn't take anything. Before the twins find the answer, they discover mysteries all around them, and with their friend Detective Purdy they discover the answer to the biggest mystery of all. The collection comprises fourteen ink illustrations and one ink and wash illustration.

Velma Elizabeth Ilsley began her career as a fashion illustrator before she started illustrating children's books. The poet, Horace Gregory, persuaded her to rewrite the story that became The Pink Hat (1956), adding another dimension to her work.
